Product information

Industrial 4-port Modbus gateway (serial to Ethernet)

v1.0R — confirm the supplied hardware revision before ordering

  • 4 × serial DB-9 (RS-232 / RS-422 / 2-wire RS-485) and 2 × 10/100 Mbps ports
  • Modbus RTU and ASCII, Master and Slave; datasheet states up to 32 TCP serial devices per port and 128 slave devices per unit; the shared user guide distinguishes TCP connections from per-port Master routing limits
  • Serial baud rate 50 bps – 921.6 kbps; web/Telnet management
  • Redundant 12–56 V DC input; max. 3.84 W @ 48 V DC
  • IP30 metal case; DIN-rail and wall mount; −40 to 75 °C

Power supply sold separately (manufacturer lists TI-M6024). The V1 quick installation guide calls for a separately sold TI-S100 or TI-S400 with RS-422/RS-485 devices, while the datasheet lists those interfaces. Confirm the exact hardware and required converter before ordering.

Manufacturer documents

Official documents checked for this model or its stated product family.

  • TI-M42 V1 — English datasheet Model-specific datasheetApplies to model TI-M42Official TRENDnet source · applicability checked 2026-10-11 · V1 (v1.0R)

Model datasheet reviewed. TCP connection, serial-device and per-port master-routing limits describe different mechanisms. Confirm exact hardware and serial-interface requirements before ordering.

  • TI-M12 / TI-M42 V1 — English installation guide Product-family installation guideApplies to model TI-M42Official TRENDnet source · applicability checked 2026-10-11 · V1 shared guide

Both guide pages reviewed. The guide calls for a separate TI-S100 or TI-S400 with RS-422/RS-485 devices, while the datasheet and user guide list those interfaces directly. Confirm required wiring and accessories; another model's illustration does not establish port count.

  • TI-M12 / TI-M42 V1 — English user guide Product-family technical documentApplies to model TI-M42Official TRENDnet source · applicability checked 2026-10-11 · v1.0R shared guide

All 34 pages reviewed cumulatively. Routing, ID mapping and serial settings require configuration. The SMTP screenshot states no SSL/TLS/STARTTLS support; web/Telnet management does not establish encrypted or internet-safe access. No installed-network compatibility approval.
